Hello crafty friends. I’m back today to share one of the cards I demo’d on Clarity Social TV last month using the Bijou Entwined Spring Wreath stamp set. These are such pretty stamps and I decided that the frame would work perfectly for a little spring scene.

Having stamped the entwined wreath onto a piece of Clarity’s 3.5″ stencil card, I covered it with the outer part of the largest moon mask, which was roughly the right size. I could then use the small clouds strip from the Build a Scene masks to create my sky, lightly brushing ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide upwards from the mask and repositioning it as I went so I didn’t get stripes across the sky. I switched to one of the landscape strips to brush ‘mowed lawn’ across it for the land.

Having removed the outer mask, I stamped a few of the images from Barbara’s Build a Landscape Favourites set, using ‘watering can’ Archival ink.

I shaded in the flowers on the wreath with yellow and green Polychromo pencils, then stamped ‘spring’ from the set onto the frame. I finished by covering half a 5×5 card front with a strip of Waimea Falls companion paper and attached the topper into the card centre. This is a great way to use up pieces of spare backing paper that aren’t quite wide enough to cut a mount for the topper (and I’ve got a lot of those!)

We’ve finally had a sunny and dry day here today, after all the recent rain – hopefully spring is not too far away. This is going into the galleries at a couple of current challenges as well – Make My Monday have got a CAS theme and We Love Stamping always have an ‘anything goes’ option.
