February’s calendar

Hello again. As it’s the first of February, I’m back to share my calendar page for the new month. I’ve gone with Clarity’s Products of the Month for Feb too, basing my design on the original drawings Barbara did in the Monday morning SHAC sessions.

I chose one of the Fabric Strip card pieces in colours that I liked (actually I like them all!), cut it down to 6.5″ square and pulled out one of the small 3×3″ Heart Aperture Toppers.

The designs Barb did in the SHAC were one layer pieces, with the illusion of the white card created with masking. Although I was using a card topper, I wanted to mimic the effect, so positioned the heart aperture on the fabric strips card and drew around it with a pencil (both the outer and inner edges). I then used grey Polychromos to created a drop shadow around the outline.

I used the stamps from the Whole Lot of Love set to decorate the topper and attached it to the printed card. Having edged that piece with a black Sharpie it glued it into place on my calendar.

So I’m set for the next month now and need to start planning my March page… These Products of the Month are brilliant, and the even better news is that if you put any of them in your shopping basket over the month, then you get double loyalty points on your whole basket – that’s definitely a Whole Lot of Love! And this is the perfect opportunity to share the love on this page a little more widely with a couple of current challenges. Festive Friday are celebrating Valentine’s Day and I picked up lilac, square card, love sentiment and hearts from their inspo list. Love is also in the air at The Paper Players.
