Just for you at Addicted to Stamps & More!

Hello friends and welcome to our new challenge at Addicted to Stamps & More, where we’re celebrating any occasion you choose to! I’ve gone for a simple notelet using a couple of the smaller stamps from the Loving Heart set and one of the new Art Deco sentiments (I can’t bring myself to put these away!) Now, left to my own devices, I am rubbish with colour schemes (I’d make every card in teal or turquoise with a touch of pink!) and I mentioned a few posts back that my son & his partner had bought me the complete Colour Cube collection (1,000 options across the four boxes!). I was struggling a bit to know how best to use them, then the brilliant Inky Fingered Cat mentioned recently that she had used a random number generator to choose one of the colour cards to work with – and so that’s what I did (and will do again!). It gave me card #166, which are not tones I’d normally reach for but, undaunted, I decided to make them work for me.

So, starting with a piece of card cut to fit on an A6 card blank, I ran a piece of masking tape to create a panel across the bottom and brushed ‘rustic wilderness’ across it for my ground area. I could then stamp the little images from the Loving Heart set into place with ‘watering can’ Archival ink and shaded them with Polychromo pencils (‘permanant green’, ‘dark cadmium yellow’ and ‘cadmium orange’).

Add one of the Art Deco sentiments, attach it to the card blank and it was done!

So, with thanks to Sunday Stamps for their sketch inspiration, I’d got a sweet little notelet ready to be used when I need it. Come on over to ATSM and join the variety of occasions we’re celebrating!
