Art Deco circle frame

Hello everyone. I’m starting the week with another look at the new Art Deco frame stamps from Clarity, which Barbara was showcasing today on Clarity Social TV. I’ve paired one of the frames with a Calligraphy Clever Corner stamp, which Barbara also had on the show – I thought the designs complemented each other.

I first cut a piece of stencil card to 4.5″ square and stamped one of the frames onto it (it’s the top left one from the set). I didn’t have a mask large enough to fully cover it, so used a slightly smaller one and lined it up against the right hand side, so that I could then stamp one of the Clever Corners alongside the frame. I repositioned the mask over to the left side and stamped the calligraphy image again. It was a little too wide to get a second one in on the left hand side, so I masked part of the stamp off with a bit of low tack tape before reinking, then lined it up next to the previous one, which gave me a nice row across the card.

Next was to shade the frame with Polychromo pencils (you need sharp points on them to get into the details areas on the frame). I went with ‘pine green’ and ‘violet’ from the winter set and ‘cobalt green’ from summer.

I finished with one of the Art Deco sentiments, added a mount of TOscana complanion paper and popped the whole thing on a 5×5 card blank.

I do like mixing my stamp sets together – it’s so satisfying when you find completely different products that then work well together. I picked up the layout for this one from the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and the shades from Color Dare.
