Craft Club stencil – foliage tree

Hello crafty friends. I’m sharing a card & ATC (artist’s trading card) that I sent to my partner in this month’s Clarity ATC swap. The theme was ‘festive’ and ‘silver’ and I opted to put the November Craft Club stencil into use on both the ATC and card.

Let me talk you through the process for making the card. I dug a piece of stencil card out of my stash that I’d cleaned the ink from a brayer onto, so it has a nice ombre effect. I lined up the top of the stencil and sponged Versamark clear ink through it, so that I could then heat emboss it in white.

I ran low tack tape down either side of the tree so that I could sponge ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxide onto it to darken the leafy pattern. Having added one of the I Am Essential – Christmas sentiments in ‘library green’ Archival, I popped it onto a mount cut with one of the Lattice doodle frame-it panel dies and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

As well as sending this to my swap partner, I’m going to add it to the galleries for a few current challenges, starting with Festive Friday and ‘white’, ‘green’, ‘Christmas tree’ & ‘Christmas sentiment’ from their inspo list. I also picked up ‘white’, ‘free’ & ‘square’ from the middle row of TicTacToe‘s grid, the stencils theme at Inkspirational and the ‘winter’ option at Stencil Fun.

And here’s a closer look at my ATC, which I made in the same way as the card topper, but used silver embossing powder on a blue inked piece of card.
