P for Pumpkin at Alphabet Challenge

Hello everyone. It’s a busy craft day today, with the first of the Clarity Crafts Open Days in Kent, where I’m demonstrating with a couple of fab new stamp sets, but also because there are a couple of new blog challenges today, starting with Alphabet Challenge. We’ve reached the letter P and it was my turn to choose the theme so I went with some seasonal pumpkins!

I put the Woodland Scenes set into action again for this one, but this time opting to use the smaller tree trunks after yesterdays larger offering, on one of the small tags from the new Autumn/Winter Skies set.

I opted for one of the smaller tags with a moon in the sky (the collection includes ones with and without moons) and stamped the tree trunks to the right using ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I added three pumpkins at the base of the trees with a stamp from the Autumn Build a Wreath set, using a stamp pen and mixing ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘dried marigold’ Distress Oxides on eth stamps by tapping them into the corner of each inkpad. I also cut a small mask for the central pumpkin so I could group the two outer ones behind it.

I added the little bunnies (or are they hares?) from the Woodland Scene set, again with the ‘potting soil’, then grounded all the images by sponging a little of the ink across a piece of torn copy paper. I ran a brown Sharpie around the edges of the topper and poped it straight onto a 5×5 card blank.

I thought these bunnies thinking about raiding the pumpkin patch on an autumn evening had a bit of a feel of Beatrix Potter about them (although Peter & his sisters were usually after the cabbages in Mr McGregor’s garden!) I’m going to share it over with The Four Seasons for their final autumn challenge, but I also hope you’ll come and play along with out pumpkin theme at Alphabet Challenge
