Hello crafty friends. Well, it’s time for our next theme at Alphabet Challenge and we’re not on to J for Jump – lots of fun to be had with this one! I dug back into my Clarity stash for a fab little set from Linda’s Children through the Seasons collection, although I don’t think the A5 square set I used is available any more – you can still get this little girl having fun in the Bijou set though.

I thought the primary colours of red and blue at Color Hues would work well for a kid’s card, and helpfully Addicted to Stamps & More‘s theme is ‘any occasion’.

I found the perfect inky mop-up background in my stash, which had various blue inks on it – having cut it down to fit on a 6×6 card blank, I stamped the little girl, extra puddles and the duck onto it with black Archival ink.

I then set about colouring this pair of pals in with my Pergaliner pencils. The duck wound us as a muddy grey – he’s either been playing in too many puddles or is a grey duck (they do exist, I checked!) Either way he would have looked a bit odd in either blue or red!

I added one of the sentiments from the set, plus one of the new I Am Essential birthday sentiments, edged the card with a black Sharpie and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I finished by highlighting the dots on her brolly and the buttons on her coat with a fine white Posca pen.

I do love this image (Linda is such a talented artist) and it always makes me smile – jumping in puddles was one of my sister’s favourite activities when we were small! What have you got jumping on your cards? Come and show us in the Alphabet gallery.
