Bethlehem star

Hello crafty friends. Barbara & Paul will be live on Clarity Social TV at 3pm (or you can watch on catch up) with this fab set of Christmas Build a Landscape stamps (and a few other new goodies too!) I’ve got another of my design team samples to share today, which will also be making an appearance in the galleries at Peace on Earth and Time Out – I’ve picked up ‘star’ and ‘book’ (the Bible) from their words list and did think about also including ‘rainbow’, but I don’t know if my sky uses enough colours to qualify…!

On to my process… I took a piece of Clarity’s 3.5″ square stencil card and blended ‘dried marigold’, ‘picked raspberry’, and ‘wilted violet’ Distress Oxides onto it, with a little ‘black soot’ at the top. I then stamped the Bethlehem town scene across the bottom using black Versafine Clair ink.

I stamped the star from the set above the town using Versamark clear ink and heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine white powder. Next was to cut a mount from black card using the same Lattice doodle frame-it panel die set as yesterday’s card and attach the topper to it (I had to trim it down a little to fit in the centre). I then embossed a frame onto the front of a 5×5 card blank using a square embedder (am I getting very predictable…?!) and sat the topper within it.

Now, I know these are called ‘build a landscape’ stamps, but I didn’t do much building here – some of the single images work perfectly on their own too!
