Hello everyone. I found time yesterday to play with the latest stamp from Clarity’s monthly Craft Club, which is this lovely bouquet of flowers and sentiment. You all know that I like to pick up themes, sketches, colours, etc from blog challenges and I pulled a few together with this card. I find colour palettes very helpful as otherwise all my cards are likely to be the same tones, however Seize the Birthday have asked for our favourite colour so that’s not much of a stretch! I love turquiose/teal tones (got quite a few in my house), but especially when combined with pretty pinks – perfect for this bouquet which also fits the ‘pretty flowers’ theme at Allsorts Challenge

I decided to go for a one layer card, keeping it very CAS, so first stamped the bouquet into the corner with black Archival ink. I cut a quick mask for the flowers (Clarity’s mask material is ideal for this as it’s reusable for next time), then used the lattice stencil from the KISS set 1 to create a background. As these are rectangular stencils, I first gently brushed ‘peacock feathers’ through it up from the top of the bouquet, then repositioned the stencil (lining it up with the first part) to brush down from the bottom.

I turned to my favourite Pergaliner pencils to shade in the flowers – I love the way these blend together for additional colours, so used the turquoise, blue & green (B16, B4 & B7) for the the leaves & ribbon, then pinks (A9 & A7) for the flowers. One coloured, I simply added the sentiment from the Craft Club set, plus one of the occasions – happy birthday.

I’m so pleased with this – and I’m sure my favourite colours had a lot to do with that!
