starry bauble

Hello everyone. Welcome to Wednesday – it’s another Christmas card today as Paul’s up on HobbyMaker TV with some fab seasonal Clarity goodies, including the SHAC Bauble stamp sets. I’ve put the ‘Merry Christmas’ set back onto action today with this lovely bauble, which I’m also going to share in the galleries at The Holly and Ivy and Merry Little Christmas.

So, here’s my process… I started with one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card and the 5×5 Christmas Bauble Aperture stencil, blending ‘shaded lilac’ and ‘wilted violet’ through it with my stencil brushes. Having stamped the starry bauble over the stencilled background, I highlighted the stars and the top with the Pergamano metallic gel pens, using the silver and purple ones to give a bit of depth to the images.

I then stamped randomly around the the rest of the card with the small solid star, using second generation ‘shaded lilac’ (that means I stamped it off on copy paper first after inking, then added it to my card, which gives a lighter tone). I used a couple of grey Polychromo pencils for a drop shadow around the bauble and attached it to a co-ordinating piece of companion paper. Turning to a 6×6 card blank, you won’t be surprised to see that I used a square embedder on it first to emboss a frame on the front before attaching the topper! I finished with one of the Birthday & Christmas word stickers, which I’d edged with a purple Pergacolour pen.

and here’s a closer look at the fabulous sheen from those metallic gel pens!
