CAS Colours & Sketches 565 – Joanne’s colours

Hello friends and welcome to our new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches! Joanne is still at the helm and has given us a lovely summery palette to play with. I decided to give Clarity’s daisy & grass set an outing, inspired by the layout at Atlantic Hearts Challenge (although I took a slightly loose interpretation of it!)

Starting with a piece of card cut to fit on a 5×5 card blank, I stamped the grass image in ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide. I added the little snail from the set in ‘shadow grey’ Archival (I wish I’d used a darker ink now), then cut the outer part of the pre-cut mask from the sheet and used it to isolate the grass. I could then brush the ‘rustic wilderness’ across the grassy area to create my lawn.

Next was to switch the mask for the inner part to cover the grass so that I could stamp the individual flowers & leaves into place. I then shaded them with Pergaliner pencils, giving my snail a very funky red shell in the process!

I added the sentiment from the set with black Archival ink, masking each word off in turn before inking them, so that I could offset it. A quick run round the card edges with a black Sharpie and it went onto the 5×5 card blank.

There’s so many options with these colours – how will you choose to use them? Come and show us in the CAS Colours & Sketches gallery.
