wedding wreath

Hello crafty friends. I’m back in my comfort zone today with another look at the Summer Build a Wreath stamps! I was asked to make a wedding card for a colleague at one of the charities I work with – she’d been talking about how they are having their small reception in her grandmother’s garden (who is a very keen gardener), and I remembered an unfinished demo piece from the May Open Days that was sitting in my box of stash.

I’ve used this layout before (it’s a great one for wedding cards) – I simply drew myself a pencil guideline using Clarity’s Heart Shape stencil and then stamped the leaves and flowers around it. I generally start with a couple of leaf stamps, alternating them to give me the frame of the shape, then add in the flowers and other embellishments. Of course, I was trying to remember which inks I’d used for this – it looks like ‘mowed lawn’ & ‘peeled paint’ for the leaves, with ‘shaded lilac’, ‘salvaged patina’ and ‘villainous potion’ for the flowers.

I then simply added one of the Anniversary/Wedding Rub On sentiments inside the heart, plus a couple of butterflies from the set using ‘salvaged patina’. I popped it on a mount of Toscana companion paper and attached it to a 7×7 card blank.

I do love building these wreaths in different colour ways – it’s so easy to change the look of a card. And this is also a perfect fit for the ‘wedding’ theme at Cardz4Galz and a final offering for this month’s Triple B challenge with these pretty blooms & butterflies.
