pink potted plants

Hello friends. It’s another hot weekend in London, so I’ve been staying indoors (another good excuse for crafting!) My poor potted plants are struggling in the heat, so I decided to create some healthier looking ones with Clarity’s stamp sets!

I’ve combined the lovely palette from Creative Colour Challenges with a slightly stripped down interpretation of the layout at Atlantic Hearts, pulling them together with the colouring theme at Addicted to Stamps & More and, of course, the ‘potted plants’ at Double D

Having cut a piece of card to fit on an A6 card blank, I set about stamping three of the pots onto it using black Archival ink. I stamped the first central outline image, cut a mask for it (I had to do the leaves individually!) and then added the two either side. I could then use the infill stamps in the set to colour in the pots – ‘picked raspberry’ for the central one which I then masked again, with ‘spun sugar’ for the outer ones. I stamped these a couple of times, sponging a little ‘watering can’ Archival into the infill stamps to give a shadow effect where they went behind the front pot. I also used the infill stamp with ‘mowed lawn’ for the central pot’s leaves, but resorted to a Pergaliner pencil for the narrow leaves. I added shade to the inside top of the pots with a grey pencil.

I masked off all three pots, then used low tack tape to create a narrow border and sponged more of the ‘mowed lawn’ across it to given them a shelf to sit on. I finished with one of the Bijou Retro Sentiments and a mount of Waimea Fall companion paper.

Hope you like this one. I’m off to water my pots again in the cool of the evening!
