family bonds

Hello friends. I had a happy hour this morning watching Janice Phillips on Clarity Social TV showcasing her latest stamp sets, which Clarity produce for her. I love the people in this Friends are Always Together set – I think they work as family groups as well as friends, and this one’s heading off to a good friend of mine who’s waiting for another set of twin grandchildren to arrive (she’s already got two sets – I just think that’s greedy!!) So this little family group struck me as perfect, and it also works for the right hand column of CAS, summer colours & any sentiment from TicTacToe‘s new grid

Here’s my process! I found a piece of Antarctica designer paper in my folder that was the right size for a 6×6 card blank (happy days!) I stamped the group onto it with black Archival ink, then added the ground below them using a micron pen and a grey Polychromo pencil. It needed a sun in the sky, so out came the outer part of a small circle mask so I could lightly brush ‘kitsch flamingo’ to create it.

All it needed was the sentiment stamped in black and an edged frame using a black Sharpie and a ruler. Out with my favourite embedders to then emboss a square frame onto the 6×6 card blank and my paper sat beautifully within it.

I love the way designer papers build the background for you (you may have noticed!), which makes the stamped images sing! And these really are fab original images from Janice, taken from her art work – check out the rest of her designs over on the Clarity website.
