CAS Colours & Sketches 563 – Shannon’s colours

Hello friends. It’s Tuesday again and time for our next challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches – Shannon has given us a lovely fresh colour palette to play with this time round. Glastonbury music festival starts at the end of this week, so it seemed the perfect time to put the latest stamp from Clarity’s Craft Club into action – I love this little pair heading off on their trip! I’ve kept it stripped back on a one layer card to also pick up the theme from The Paper Players.

First was to stamp the outline image onto a 5×5 card blank. I stamped it again onto a piece of scrap paper, popped a piece of Clarity’s blank mask material onto it and fussy cut it so that I could cover the image on the card. I seem to be using clouds a lot recently, but this pair needed a summery sky so here they are again – I brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across the small clouds mask from the Build a Scene set, then sponged a little ‘hickory smoke’ under the van across one of the ground masks from the same set.

The club set comes with infill stamps for the van and ‘hello’, so I sponged ‘shaded lilac’ & ‘kitsch flamingo’ onto them for suitably colourful transport. Mind you, my sponging on the van wasn’t as accurate as it could have been – I got lilac into the pink area, but let’s just assume that it’s a self paint job from these hippies! I shaded the girls with Pergaliner pencils and added an appropriate Rub On sentiment above the van.

The weather looks set fair for Glastonbury next weekend – not that it matters to me, as I’ll just be watching bits of it on TV!

  1. love this Deborah, I’ve yet to play with mine- must give it a go. I too will watch snippets on theTV of Glastonbury, it’s a bit too large a festival for me. I went to a local on last Saturday which was brilliant so I don’t feel left out!
