Hello friends and welcome to this week’s Christmas card! It’s another using Clarity’s winter build a wreath stamps – it was still on the top of my stamp pile, waiting to be put away after the Open Days at the end of last month! I hope you’re not bored with it yet…

I managed to work three current challenges into this one, starting with the sketch at Sunday Stamps. I thought the tones at Color Hues would work nicely with a festive theme and, as always, it’s ‘anything goes’ at The Holly and Ivy.

I started by cutting a piece of card to fit on an A6 card, drew myself pencil guidelines to reflect the sketch using an oval embedder and stamped the fir branch along them using ‘iced spruce’ Distress Oxide. Having realised there was a little bauble stamp in the set when I was using it at the Open Days, I decided to put it to good use by repeat stamping it along the branches. Even though it’s very dainty, I managed to ink it up in two colours by mounting it on one of Clarity’s stamp pens and then using the edges of the ink pads to catch the string in ‘iced spruce’ and the bauble in ‘carved pumpkin’.

I decided to sit the robin from the set on one of the branches and again managed to ink him in two colours with him mounted on a stamp pen, using the corner of a ‘ripe persimmon’ pad to catch his tummy, then rotating the stamp along the edge of a ‘walnut stain’ pad for his head, body & legs. It’s really quite easy once you’ve worked out the process!

I then simply added a gold Christmas Rub-on sentiment, a mount of Shenandoah companion paper and attached it to an A6 card blank.

The sunshine has finally returned after very mixed weather over the last week, so I’ll be back with more of a summery feel tomorrow!
