Christmas Pearl

Hello friends and welcome to this week’s Christmas card! This time round I’ve used Pearl from the Christmas mini poppets – she’s just so sweet with her little basket of stars! As ever, I’ve managed to incorporate a few blog challenges into this one, starting with a slightly loose interpretation of the layout at Atlantic Hearts. Although they look very summery, the colours at Sunday Stamps have worked for this Christmas image and finally I picked up the ‘things that fly’ theme at The Paper Players (Pearl’s got a beautiful set of wings!)

I stamped Pearl onto a small square of stencil card and covered her over with a mask that I’d cut from Clarity’s blank material the last time I used her. I could then lightly brush ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide into the background around her.

I then happily spent a few minutes colouring her in with my Pergaliner pencils before adding the two stars from Linda’s wish upon a star set with the ‘tumbled glass’ (to replace the leaves in AHSC’s sketch). With one of the occasions – merry Christmas stamps and a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper, she sat perfectly on a 5×5 card blank.

So that’s card number 21 into my Christmas stash! She’d make a great little winter birthday card as well.

  1. That is one very sweet angel! I like your out of the box thinking on flying things too. The blue frame and softly coloured background really bring her to life. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.
