Landscape nativity

hello crafty friends and welcome to this week’s Christmas card! I know the sun’s been shining outside, but it’s week 20 of 2025 and I’m keeping up with my personal challenge! This week’s offering, using Clarity’s nativity miniatures stamps is inspired by the nativity theme at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and the K for Kraft at ABC Christmas, together with the ‘anything goes’ theme at The Holly and Ivy

You may remember from yesterday’s card that I’d been rummaging in my folder from last year’s Clarity summer retreat and today I’ve got another of the backgrounds I made there as the basis for this card. For this one, we were spreading acrylic paints onto a craft mat, spritzing then with water and picking the paint up onto stencil card.  I cut a square from one of the backgrounds and then used Clarity’s south downs 6×6 mask to create a landscape – I sponged ‘antique linen’ and ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxides to create the ground. I popped a moon mask into the sky and dragged ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across it with a sponge.

I then simply stamped the nativity scene into the landscape, replacing the mask to lightly sponge a little of the black Archival ink as a ground shadow.   I added the sentiment from Jayne’s postcard stamp set, followed by a black mount cut with one of the ‘lattice’ doodle frame-it panel dies. The whole piece then went onto a 6×6 kraft card blank to finish.

  1. You’ve created a wonderful nativity scene here, Deborah, and I love how you used the stencil and masks on the pretty paint background. A perfect Christmas card.

Thanks for sharing with us at ABC Christmas Challenges.

    Hugs
