flowers at Sparkles Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to Thursday’s post and our new theme of ‘flowers’ at Sparkles Challenge – another good excuse to get my build a wreath stamps out again and this time I’ve mived on to the summer set.

More challenges drawn together into this card as well. I’ve taken the colours from Creative Colour challenge and the layout from Atlantic Hearts, adding in another contribution to Simply Clean & Simple‘s gallery, this time including their optional twist of flowers.

Starting with one of Clarity’s 3.5″ squares of stencil card, I first embossed a frame onto it with one of their hexagon embedders. I didn’t want to go all the way round so that I could stamp my flowers onto the card, so I embossed it around four of the six sides and then drew pencil guideline for the remaining two to abe able to position my little floral spray.

It was then easy to stamp the flowers from the summer build a wreath set across the pencil lines – I used ‘squeezed lemonade’ Distress Oxide for the daisies, ‘saltwater taffy’ for the other flowers and ‘hickory smoke’ for the leaves.

I added a little butterfly from the set in the ‘squeezed lemonade’, but wanted to give him a little more definition, so gently reinked the edge of the stamp with ‘hickory smoke’ and added on top of the first image. I used the sentiment from the KISS Celebrate Your Day set, followed by a mount of grey card and attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank.

My garden is bursting into flower with the recent warm and sunny weather here (not least my lawn which is full of daisies!!). We’d love to see your floral creations in our gallery over at Sparkles Challenges!
