time for reflection

Hello crafty friends! The sun is shining, I can hear the birds singing outside and it feels like spring is defiitely in the air! Having said that, I’ve gone for a more thoughtful feel on today’s card using the brilliant new ‘elementree’ stamps from Clarity Crafts.using the brilliant new ‘elementree‘ stamps from Clarity Crafts. Some of these images look like trees as well as leaves, so I paired a couple of them up on one of the landscape toppers which makes for a quick and easy card.

Before picking up the stamps, though, I needed to emboss a frame onto the front of a 7×7 kraft card blank using the largest of Clarity’s rectangle embedders. It wasn’t quite the right width for the topper I’d chosen, so I needed to enlarge it (which isn’t very difficult). I positioned the embedder onto the front of my card as usual, turned to the inside and ran my embossing tool down the outer edge and part-way across the top and bottom. I flipped back to the front and repositioned the embedder to take the other edge to the right place, keeping the top and bottom with my score lines. Back to the inside front again, I completed the embossing along the top and bottom and then down the inner edge.

Having done that, I selected the stamps to go on my topper (there’s one from each set), ran low tack tape across the bottom edge of the landscape and stamped both ‘trees’ with ‘vintage photo’ Archival ink.

I added the sentiment from the Quotes set 4 stamps, again in the ‘vintage photo’ and then simply attached the topper to the card front, sitting it within my embossed frame.

Barbara’s on Clarity Social TV at 2pm today – she’ll have lots more ideas for you to use these fab news stamps. I’ll be catching up with the show this evening, thanks to a very inconsiderate work meeting scheduled for this afternoon!
