Hello and welcome to Monday! It’s also the final day of Clarity’s Japan month and we’re having a final celebration with these brand new cranes stamps – a pair of sets giving you the outlines and the infill silhouettes.(and they come with Clarity’s fantastic pre-cut masks). I’ve gone for a very different Japanese inspired look from yesterday’s card, this time picking up the rising sun image from their national flag. My images and the circle of the sun pick up the challenge from AAA cards, adding a geometric shape to the silhouettes.

I started with a 4.25″ (10.8cm) square piece of Clarity’s stencil card and positioned the outer part of the largest moon mask in the centre, so that I could sponge ‘festive berries’ Distress Oxide to form my rising sun. I then stamped the outline of the cranes with Versmark clear ink and heat embossed them in white, before adding the infill silhouettes with black Versafine Clair ink.

I wanted to sit them in a little scene (I could have also picked out ‘landscape’ as my ‘plus one’ from AAA’s challenge), so turned to the Savannah treescape stamps and added one of the trees on each side of the crane, before using the tree tops across the bottom to create the foliage.

Having added one of the Japanese symbols from the recent ‘flowers & butterflies sampler‘ set, I simply ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank.

Barbara will be on screen at 2pm today over on Clarity’s YouTube channel, and you can always watch on catch-up if you miss it. And don’t forget, you’ve just got until midnight tonight to use the JAPAN10 code and get 10% off your order!
