more Japanese butterflies

Hello crafty friends. Well, I hope you’re not bored with the new ‘Japanese flowers & butterflies sampler‘ stamp set from Clarity Crafts yet, as I’ve got another card to share with you today (although I have now put them away for a little while…!) This one just uses the infill stamps from the ‘peace’ group, without the outline round stamp that they all fit in to. I’ve based it on the layout at Freshly Made Sketches and feel very proud of myself for managing to incorporate all five of the colours from Color Dare‘s challenge!

So, here’s the process, which is not that tricky! I started with one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card, lined up their ‘sunshine’ stencil to sit in the corner and brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide through it. I then got busy with the stamping, adding the butterfly twice in ‘picked raspberry’ and ‘kitsch flamingo’, then planting a garden of flowers with the waterlily stamps in the two pinks plus ‘shaded lilac’. I gave the flowers stems with a micron pen and stamped the little infill leaves using ‘bundled sage’.

I added the ‘beauty’ Japanese sentiment from the sampler set in black Archival in, then drew in the butterflies’ bodies with a micron pen, to pull them in with the sentiment & flower stems. A mount of pale blue companion paper and a 5×5 card blank and it was done!

I’m going to put this set away for a bit now, but Clarity’s Japan month continues through March, so I’ll be back with more of their collection tomorrow!
