KISS birthday flowers

Hello friends. I’ve got a bright spring-like card for you today, using the ‘KISS Brighten Your Day Flowers’ from Clarity Crafts – I must admit I’m ready for the seasons to change after the recent cold spell (we’re promised warmer weather by the weekend…)

I managed to incorporate several challenges into this one starting with the colours from Sunday Stamps and layout from Sketch Saturday. Seize the Birthday are looking for a heart on the card (can you spot it?) and AAA Birthday made me very happy with their ink smooshing theme!

So I started by masking off a panel on a piece of Clarity’s stencil card, squished ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide onto a mix mat, spritzed it with water and then smooshed it onto the card. Once dry, I stamped the flowers and butterflies with black Archival ink (can you see the heart shapes in the flowers?) and shaded them with Pergaliner pencils

I added the sentiment from the ‘bijou art nouveau collection’ stamps, with a little heart from the ‘hearty crescent moon’ set that I showcased on Clarity Social TV last month.  It was a simple matter to add a mount of blue companion paper and emboss a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank using one of the square embedders.

Perfect for a spring birthday with these cheerful colours!
