Maeve

Hello there! It’s Day 2 of the Clarity Crafts Members’ Half Price sale, which always proves very popular. Barbara & Paul have been showcasing some of the design team samples – yesterday they were looking at the fabulous Poppets designs, which inspired me to get Maeve (one of the Sprites collection) out for a play. I do love her – she’s just so sassy with her little froggy friend! I took the colours from TGIF Challenges, the ‘friends’ theme from Addicted to CAS and the ‘polka dot’ theme from Cardz4Galz (they’re on her dress)

Starting with a square of white card, cut to fit on a 5×5 card blank, I stamped Maeve & the frog into the corner, then coloured them with pink & red Pergaliner pencils and a grey Polychromo. I wanted her to sit over the edge of the topper but didn’t want to fussy cut the whole piece, so first used my paper trimmer to cut the side and bottom of the card down to meet the edges of the image. I could then fussy cut around her wings and sneakers so they overhang the topper.

I decided to cover the whole front of a 5×5 card blank with a piece of red Waimea Falls companion paper before attaching the topper, finishing with a Pinky Gray sticker mounted on a scrap of the red paper.  The final touch was to brush her wings with Wink of Stella, so they shimmer – you’ll have to trust me on that one as I couldn’t pick it up on the photo!
