hearty crescent moon

Hello friends. Bit of a late post today after a busy day of work meetings, but I wanted to just share with you the final one of my demo cards from last Friday’s shows, this time using the ‘hearty crescent moon‘ stamp set.

I started by brayering ‘kitsch flamingo’ and ‘broken china’ Distress Oxides onto Clarity’s small circle backdrop stamp (it’s a good way of blending the ink on your stamp) and stamped it onto a piece of stencil card.  I then lined up the solid crescent moon stamp with the backdrop stamp so that the points of the moon were level with the outer edge of the circle. I stamped it over the backdrop using ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink.

I then took the infill stamp for the hearty design on the crescent, sponged ‘kitsch flamingo’ onto it and stamped it into the grey moon. I find the easiest way to do this is to line up the stamp over the image on the card, then line up my mount with the edges of the card, picking up the stamp on it. That way I can use the mount to guide the stamp back into place once inked, rather than trying to see whether the image is lined up through the ink. I added the sentiment and a couple of the little accent stamps with ‘watering can’ Archival ink, colouring them with a blending nib and some of the ink on my mat from using the brayer.

I then simply added a mount of Rainbow River companion paper, embossed a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank with a square embedder, and attached the topper to it.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back with another crafty offering tomorrow!
