three trees

Hello everyone. I’m trying to stick to my ambition of one Christmas card each week, and I suddenly realised it’s Friday and I hadn’t sorted this week’s offering! Fortunately, I’d arranged a crafting session with a friend this afternoon, so whipped out ‘Linda’s Winter Wishes‘ stamp set from Clarity Crafts – the trees work really well with the colours from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and the sketch from Atlantic Hearts.

I started with one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card and lightly brushed ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide across the ‘riverside mountains‘ masks. I then stamped the three trees with Versamark clear ink and heat embossed them with WOW’s copper powder (the closest I’d got to 52CCT’s bronze).

I grounded the trees by sponging a little of the ‘pumice stone’ across a torn piece of copy paper, then mounted the topper on a panel I’d cut with one of the ‘film strip‘ nested doodle frame-it panel dies and attached it to a 6×6 kraft card blank. The final touch was to heat emboss the sentiment onto a strip of white card and add it over the trees, gluing a bit of scrap card behind it to lift it slightly.

So that’s three in the bag so far this year – hoping I can keep this up!
