wild frame trees

Hello crafty friends. Well, I promised that the ‘build a wreath’ stamps were going away for now, so here’s a completely different look using the ‘wild frame‘ stamp set from Clarity Crafts. Barbara was playing with them on Clarity Social TV yesterday, which inspired me to get my set out. Just Us Girls have got a masculine theme this time round, so I’ll pop it in their gallery too.

Some time ago I cleaned up old blending brushes, just dipping them into water and them spreading the wet residual ink across pieces of Clarity’s stencil card. Once they were dry, I’d got a whole selection of landscape backgrounds ready to use.

I used a nested square die to cut the card down, then stamped the ‘wild frame’ grove of trees across it with black Archival ink. I added the smaller row of trees from the ‘woodland miniatures‘ set on the horizon, then used low tack tape to cover along the base of the trees (folding it to fit round the curves) and sponged ‘watering can’ Archival to create the shadow. Finally, I popped the small eagle into the sky.

I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges before sitting it within a frame that I’d embossed on the front of a 6×6 card blank using a square embedder. The final touch was to add one of the ‘Christmas & Celebrations‘ word stickers.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back with another creation tomorrow!

  2. Your seamlessly ink-blended background is the perfect stage for the woodsy scene you’ve created. Most definitely an eye-catching masculine card. Thank you for joining us at Just Us Girls.
