Craft Club thank you floral flourish die

Hello there, crafty friends, and welcome to a look at another of the goodies currently available in Clarity‘s bumper sale of their Craft Club back issues. Today, I’ve picked out the ‘thank you floral flourish’ aperture die, inspired by the challenge at TGIF. The great thing about the Craft Club issues is that you get the project sheet along with the die (all for £2!), and I toook inspiration from Barbara’s design on it.

Barb’s project cut the die into white card and backed it with deigner paper, so I decided to reverese that, starting with the paper. I took a sheet of the retired 8×8 ‘Northern Lights’ paper (but any brightly coloured or patterned sheet would do) and cut it into four squares. I backed each piece with Stick It thin double sided adhesive and first cut the border using the middle one of the ‘Nested square scallop doodle aperture frame-its‘ dies. I then positioned the ‘thank you’ die in the centre and ran that back through my embossing machine.

I wanted to add it to a black card blank, but the paper looked really dull against it (you can see that from the pic above on my craft mat). I realised that Clarity’s small 3.5 inch stencil card squares were the perfect size to use as backing for the paper, so popped one on the reverse – I laid the paper face down, peeled the backing off the adhesive, and centred the stencil card on it. It was then an easy matter to simply attached the topper to the black 5×5 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. I must admit, this sale is making me relook at my old Craft Club issues and get them out to play – and if you haven’t got any of these, now is the perfect time to invest!
