mini crackers

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got something a bit different to share with you today, using the fab ‘mini cracker’ die from ClarityCrafts. These make great table decorations or Christmas tree gifts – I was looking at the ones made by my design team buddies on my recent Clarity Social TV shows and was really taken by the elf & gnome decorations on a few of them, so here’s my take on them. They work perfectly for Inspire.Create‘s ‘anything but a card’ theme, the gift prompt at Inspired By… and the ‘happy holidays’ theme at Time Out

I started by cutting the dies into some patterned paper that I’ve had in my stash for way much longer than I’d care to admit to! The pale blue paper doesn’t show up so well on the pics, but it’s got a lovely star pattern on it. All they need is some red liner tape down the edge, then roll them up and stick the flap under the straight edge. I then got Gnorman from the ‘letterbox gnomes’ and Elvis from the ‘letterbox elves’ sets, stamped and die cut them both, then coloured them with Pergaliner pencils to match their respective crackers, adding one of the mini sentiments to their boxes.

It was then a simple matter to glue the toppers onto the crackers and fill them with mini Lindor balls (they took three each). You can tie ribbon round the ends to hold them closed, but they crease together really well.

I’ll be creating more of these to decorate our table on Christmas Day, but before then I’ve got a session with my craft group where we’ll be making sets of them for everyone.
