Hello crafty friends and welcome to Monday! It’s a busy, busy week for me now we’re really running up to Christmas with lots of work commitments but I’m determined to still find time for a bit of crafting….! I’ve gone with a thank you card today (hoping I’ll need lots of these when all my Christmas presents arrive…!!) combining the ‘bamboo‘ overlay stamp set from ClarityCrafts with the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and the palette from Color Throwdown.

These two-way overlay stamp set are just fab! I started by stamping the outline in ‘watering can’ Archival, then sponged ‘peeled paint’ Distress Oxide onto the infill stamp and added the colour to the bamboo stems. The leafy infill is great as you can add the colour to them all in one go – I used ‘Barn door’ Distres Oxide, again sponging it onto the stamp before planting it on the image.

This has quite an oriental feel to it, so I added one of the ‘bijou Japanese symbols‘ to it in black, together with a Pinky Gray word sticker before attaching it to a black A6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back tomorrow with another creation!

I love it. I’ve always liked things that remind me of Japan or China and like the simplicity of their art.
