I’d pick you

Herllo there and welcome to Monday! I thought I’d bring you another look at the ‘build-a-scene’ stamps from Clarity Crafts that Barbara will be having fun with this afternoon on their YouTube page. This set is the ‘meadow flowers‘ which Barb designed for Clarity’s summer retretat a few years ago.

I had an easy starting point, with a background I’d made on Clarity’s recent Christmas workshop, using one of their backdrop stamps – perfect for a little landscape.

I’d written the colours on the back fortunately, so it was easy to match them up for my flowers. I ran some low tack tape along the bottom of the background, then inked the double flowers with ‘shabby shutters’ Distress ink and ‘saltwater taffy’ Distress Oxide and planted them on the landscape. I stamped a couple of the individual flower heads over them using ‘tattered rose’ Distress Oxide to enlarge them, and added a grassy border along the bottom with the ‘shabby shutters’.

I used a nested square die to cut the background down (I find that the easiest way to line up the edges) before adding a narrow mount of Indian Summer companion paper. You won’t be surprised that I embossed a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank using a square embedder and attached the topper inside it.

These are great little stamp sets and there’s a fab offer on them over on Clarity’s website, as they launch their annual Gray Friday sale!
