grateful flowers

Hello friends. I’m a bit late with today’s post as I’ve spent the afternoon working on secret stuff for next Sunday’s ClarityCrafts shows on YouTube & Facebook. Still better late than never, so here’s a look at one of the ‘build-a-scene’ stamps that Barbara will be showcasing online tomorrow at 2pm. This set is the ‘doodle flowers‘ – I took the palette from Color Throwdown, the layout (rotated) from Sketch Saturday and the theme from The Flower Challenge to create this card of thanks.

Starting with one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card, I stamped the double flowers with black Archival ink, then added the one with hearts to sit between them. I then ran low tack tape down either side to create a panel and brushed ‘wild honey’ Distress Ink into it. Turning to my favourite Pergaliners I shaded the flowers, matching the tones from Color Throwdown as closely as I could.

I then simply added a mount of Amazonia companion paper, used a small square embedder to emboss a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank and attached the topper to sit within it. The final touch was a word sticker, which I’d edged with a black Sharpie.

Life feels very wintry here at the moment, despite these lovely autumnal colours, with Storm Bert still raging! Thankfully the forecast is for a calmer day tomorrow, but whatever the weather I’ll be watching Barbara at 2pm – come and join me (or catch up later).
