Turbo trees at As You See It challenge

Hello again! Time for our new challenge at As You See It and it’s the speed theme – bound to get your creative pulse racing! For this, the challenge is to make a card in less than 10 minutes on the given theme – you can get everything gathered ready before you start, but your clock ahs to start as soon as you make the first paper cut or ink your stamp. I went with one of the lovely images from ‘Jayne’s Winter Scenes Christmas Sampler‘ set from Clarity Crafts, picking up the tones from AAA Colourful, the ‘sparkle’ from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and the moodboard at Peace on Earth

So, there are no step-by-step photos for this one – too stressful with the clock ticking away beside me! I did get everything together on my craft mat before pressing start, then off I went!

First was to use the square embedder to emboss a frame on a small square of stencil card (I’ve got very fast at this after spending both of Clarity’s recent OPen Days demonstrating them!) I stamped the image with Versamark clear ink and heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine gold powder. I could then quickly shade the images with Pergaliner pencils, then mount the card on one of the small 4×4 squares of Amazonia companion paper (very handy to have the pack of these!) I attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank, then ran over the tree and lych gate images with a Quickie glue pen before adding a final scatter of Pergaglitter and stopping the clock!

And the big question is – how long did this take me…? I was pretty pleased to bring it in at 7 minutes 18 seconds!
