triple Christmas trees

Hello there. I’m back today with another take on the tree stamp from ClarityCrafts‘ new ‘Just Christmas silhouette framer’ set. This time I’ve taken a bit of a collage technique to piece together three separate stamped images to get thestripes on my card – read on for all the details.

The first step was to brayer ‘uncharted mariner’ Distress Oxide onto the tree silhouette framer and stamp it onto a piece of copy paper (card is a bit too think for this technique). I repeated the process with ‘saltwater taffy’ and ‘crushed olive’, so I had three separate images, then cut them out with one of the smaller nested square dies. I taped the three images together (one of top of the other) with masking tape, then used a guillotine to chop them into three sections. I could then glue one of each colour onto a small square of stencil card to recreate the stamp image.

I cut each of the toppers down using the next size up nested square die, then added a mount of Antarctica companion card. I used a square embedder to emboss a frame on the front of three 5×5 card blanks and attached a topper to each of them, finishing with the sentiment stamped in ‘uncharted mariner’.

It would be fun to experiment doing this with different colour combinations.
