Hello again! I’m back with a second card today featuring a fab stamp set that’s available at half price in this weekend’s Crafting Celebration from ClarityCrafts – Barbara gate-crashed the end of my second show with Paul yesterday having just found a pile of the ‘winter cabin reflection’ stamps down in the factory, so it was only right to show you it’s full glory! I thought it would be perfect for the colours from Creative Colour and the layout from Atlantic Hearts, picking up the ‘wood’ theme from Addicted to CAS, so read on for the details…

Starting with a square of white card, I stamped the cabin with grey ‘watering can’ Archival ink then added the reflection image using the same ink but in second generation (that is, I stamped it off on scrap paper first, then stamped it onto the card so it’s a paler image). I popped a moon mask in place, took a torn piece of copy paper and laid it across the base of the cabin, then brushed a little ‘weathered wood’ around the cabin and added ‘spun sugar’ into the sky (difficult to see in the photo – it’s more pink in real life!). I lifted off the moon mask, replaced it with the outer part and blended ‘picked raspberry’ for a winter sun.

Next was to use Clarity’s mask material to cut masks for the cabin images. Once covered I stamped the trees into place, again with the ‘watering can’ and using second generation for the refection images.

I stamped the sentiment in two parts to sit either side of the cabin (I’ve subverted Atlantic Hearts’ layout by using the cabin for the focal centre circle and the sentiment for the horizontal strip). A quick mount of grey card and onto a 6×6 card blank.

What do you think of my little wintry scene? It made me think of a grey misty morning with a pink sunrise breaking through.
