Hello friends and welcome to Sunday’s blog! I’ve got another of ClarityCrafts new poppet stamps to share with you today, as Barbara launches them with a live 2 hour show from 3pm this afternoon on the Clarity Worldwide Facebook page and YouTube channel. So say hello to Mia, one of the new pixie poppets, who’s getting ready for Christmas.
I started with creating the background for this one, using the hills mask on a square of card and blending ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide into the top part, with a little black ink around the edge to darken it. I removed the mask and stamped the snowflake from the ‘SHAC Merry Christmas bauble’ set across the sky using Versamark clear ink, then heat embossed them with WOW’s superfine white powder (you can do 2 or 3 snowflakes each time). I also sponged a little of the ‘broken china’ across a torn piece of copy paper onto the lower part of the card where Mia was going to sit.

I stamped Mia onto white card with black Archival ink, used Pergaliner pencils to shade her in, using Dorso oil and a blending nib to blend the colours together, and then fussy cut her.

I’d attached the background to a 6×6 card blank, so I simply mounted Mia onto a piece of scrap card and added her to the card front. I’m cross with myself, though, as I’d added ‘broken china’ ink with a waterbrush to the background below her wing that I hadn’t been able to fussy cut, which was fine, but I should have made sure I followed the snowline in the background instead of fillling it all in! You live & learn! The final touch was the sentiment from ‘Jayne’s bijou postcard framer’ stamp set and Wink of Stella to make her wings shimmer.

I hope you can join Barbara online this afternoon – the poppets are all just adorable! Before then, I’m going to share this card at Sparkles Christmas where the ask is to use ‘Christmas’ on your card, and at Sunday Stamps, having taken colours from their palette (I’ve used the blue, black & pink, plus brown as my neutral).
