CAS Colours & Sketches 546 – autumn tones

Welcome to October! We’ve got a new colour palette from Laura for you to play with over at CAS Colours & Sketches and it’s got a lovely autumnal feel. I decided to combine one of the new ‘leafy overlay’ stencils from ClarityCrafts, with the little leaves stamp from the ‘birch trees’ set and one of ‘Barbara’s poetry verses’, picking up the ‘leaves’ theme from CAS on Friday.

Taking one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card, I brushed ‘antique linen’ Distress Oxide (the closest I’ve got to wild wheat) through the triple leaf on the stencil, then ‘carved pumpkin’ through the double one. Next was to stamp the leafy spray from ‘birch trees’ over the stencilled leaves in the two colours.

I added the Serenity Prayer from the poetry stamp set with ‘cobalt’ Archival ink and edged the topper with a navy Sharpie. I used a small square embedder to emboss a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank and attached the topper to sit within it.

I really love this colour combination – come on over to CAS Colours & Sketches and show us how you’ll use them. Our challenge runs until Monday 14 October.
