Hello friends. I’ve got a bit of a look back to the ‘bijou linocut’ stamps from ClarityCrafts that were launched earlier this year. I love this poppies set – in fact all the stamps in the collection are produced from original linocuts by Barbara Gray (she’s so talented!) I’ve picked up a few challenge themes with this one – ‘friendship/encouragement/support’ from Time Out, ‘shapes’ from Double D and CAS from Inkspirational

Other than the word sticker, this is a one layer card. I took a 5×5 card blank and used a rectangle embedder to emboss the frame. I sponged the small linocut background with ‘broken china’ & ‘rustic wilderness’ Distresss Oxides, then ran masking tape along the bottom edge of the background & added the poppies & leaves outlines in ‘watering can’ Archival ink.

I added colour to the outlines by sponging ‘festive berries’ onto the overlay stamp for the poppy and ‘rustic wilderness’ for the bud. I finished with a word sticker, which I cut it down as I just wanted the single word.

There have been lots of poppies in bloom along the roadsides aroung here this summer – I think we often forget they’re a summer flower as they’re so closely associated with Remebrance Day in November..
