Good evening everyone! Bit of a late post today after being at the TV studios to launch the final set of Christmas stamps designed by Linda Williams for ClarityCrafts. They were really popular and the shows just flew by – I’ll share my other demos over the next few days but, for now, here’s that one that got away and didn’t get shown in the first show. I’ve called it ‘one design, two ways’ – theyr’e both basically the same card but each with their own twist, using Linda’s swirly Christmas tree plus Barbara’s Christmas sentiments.

So these are both pretty simple (my favourite style!). The black one started with a square of card onto which I stamped the ‘swirly Christmas tree’ with WOW’s clear ink, then heat embossed it in gold. I added a narrow mount of white card, a second layer of black card and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I then simply stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of white card and added that to the card front.

For the second one, I again stamped & heat embossed the ‘swirly Christmas tree’, but this time using white embossing powder onto white stencil card. I then coloured the tree with ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide using a waterbrush, which picked out the white embossed image. This time, I layered it onto gold card, followed by a narrow white mount and then onto a card blank I’d made from a sheet of A4 (just cut the length to be twice the width of the card, then score it down the centre). This time I added Barbara’s Christmas sentiment directkly onto the topper in ‘rustic wilderness’ and highlighted the star with a gold metallic pen.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Two virtually identical cards that at first glance look very different!

I’m now putting my feet up for the rest of the evening after a long TV day, but will take a few minutes to share these at Merry Little Christmas, Atlantic Hearts (I took a loose interpretation of their sketch) and Tic Tac Toe (the green card picks up their left hand diagonal of foliage, free & green/yellow – well, gold!)

Loved the show and I do remember your first time when you got a mark on the card and the Presenter said to you ” Oh you can always put a Butterfly over it ” and your reply was ” No it is meant to be there “, CLASSIC, and I have to say that you have come on leaps and bounds looking more rekaxed and at ease in front of the camera!!!!!
