H for Holiday at Alphabet Challenge

Hello crafty friends. We’ve got a new theme over at Alphabet Challenge for you – we’ve reached H and Helen has opted for Holiday. It can be summer or Christmas – I’ve got out of synch with my Christmas cards since being away, so this gave me a good reason to get another one in the bag. Clarity‘s ‘joy to the world bauble’ stamp is yet another favourite of mine, so out it came to play along with the great aperture toppers cut to fit it exactly.

I started with the aperture topper and stamped the bauble outline onto it with black Versafine Clair ink. I find the easiest way to line this up is to sit the clean stamp onto the topper, getting it nicely into position, then pick it up on one of the mega mounts. They’ve got lines etched into them, which you can line up with the topper and then easily get the stamp straight back down into place once inked. I then lined up the infill stamp in the same way, sponged Distress Oxides in ‘rustic wilderness’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘squeezed lemonade’ onto it, gave it a quick spritz with water and stamped it into place.

For once, I’d actually thought to choose my designer paper first, so the ink colours matched the tones in the piece of Northern Lights paper i used! I trimmed it to fit a 6×6 card blank, attached it to the front and then popped the aperture die cut on top.

So what holiday are you going to share with us at Alphabet Challenge? There are a couple of other blog challenges that I’m going to share this with. Sparkles Christmas are looking for cards with ornaments, Addicted to Stamps have got their Christmas theme this time round, and Time Out want to see stars – well they’re twinkling in the sky above the stable!
