summer fun

Hello there. I’m back with another silhouette stamp set from ClarityCrafts, this time it’s ‘meadowdance’. I just love the joy in these dancing children – they’re ready for the school holidays, methinks! I was inspired for this one by the theme over at The Paper Players – the stamps definitely say ‘summer fun’ to me!

I started with a watercolour background that’s been sat in my stash for a while, stamped the tree from the set in Versafine Clair ink, then added the children across the bottom.

That part was nice & quick, but I really felt they needed some backing paper behind them so spent the next however long trying to make a decision! Having had half my paper stash out, I settled on a piece of the BOW-WOB paper (black-on-white, white-on-black) – I thought the ‘love’ sentiment on it was perfect. It needed some colour, so I used stencil brushes to add ‘broken china’ and ‘dried marigold’ Distress Oxides to it and attached it to a 5×7 card blank.

I then simply mounted the topper on a layer of black card, added the sentiment from ‘Tina’s bijou retro’ set and attached it to the card front

I have to say, they’re having a better day than we are – it’s been pouring with rain in London this afternoon!

  1. A really lovely card, and I can see the BowWob papers being used a lot, I can remember when they first came out Barbara was saying they were going to be the next best thing because she has such vision for them, can`t wait to see Stay Safe jill xxx

  2. That silhouette of children playing is just lovely Deborah and so perfect with your inky background too and I ‘love’ the way you framed this summer scene too. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
