walk on the wild side

Hello there! I’m starting today with a card using the new ‘bijou linocut’ stamps from ClarityCrafts that Barbara is launching on Create & Craft TV today at 9am & 1pm. I decided to go with a traditional linocut style on this one, showcasing one of the fab background sets together with the teasels.

I started with a square of stencil card and the ‘build a scene masks’ to create the background, brushing ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide across one of the landscape strips, then ‘broken china’ across the clouds for the sky

I then stamped the linocut background in the centre of the card, using Versafine Clair black ink. I added in the line art leaves from the ‘teasels’ set, stamping a group within the background frame and a few more on each side (which I grounded by sponging a little black ink across a torn piece of scrap paper).

I simply attached it to the front of a black 6×6 card blank and finished with a word sticker.

This is about as grungy as I get with cards – not straying too far from my happy CAS place! It did remind me of those wild sand dunes you find in various parts of the British isles!
