she’s got style

Hello crafty friends! I’m back with another card featuring Clarity‘s ‘calligraphy girls’ stamps, this time sitting her on a watercolour background and picking up the palette from Creative Colour Challenges with the layout from Freshly Made Sketches

This story starts back last summer at the Clarity annual retreat, when we spent a happy session making backgrounds to stamp on. This one was from a piece of Clarity’s watercolour paper, divided up with masking tape and the colours added with a waterbrush, then splattering some dots and adding the ‘plants’ with the side of a credit card. I’ve still got a few of these in my stash so stamped one of the ladies into it, then coloured her with Pergaliner pencils and sponged a little ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxide across a torn bit of copy paper to give her some ground to stand on.

I added the sentiment in black Archival ink and mounted the topper on a layer of Indian Summer companion paper. I used a rectangle embedder to create a frame on the front of a black 6×6 card blank and attached the topper.

I do rather like this stylish lady walking in her garden – I can just imagine her at some large country house!
