physalis spray

Hello there! I’m back with another of my DT samples from Sunday’s ClarityCrafts TV shows, this time showcasing the lovely ‘chinese lanterns’ (or physalis) spray. They’re great two-step stamps, that have both the outline and then little infill ones to add the colours (there’s numbering on the coversheet so you can match them up exactly)

This time I started with a ready-made background from a watercolour session when I was making the kingfisher card a couple of months ago – it’s just Distress Oxide inks painted onto Clarity’s watercolour paper. I stamped the physalis spray using Versafine Clair ‘nocturne’ ink, let it dry and then used the infill stamps to colour the image. I used ‘carved pumpkin’ for the seedpods and ‘mowed lawn’ for the leaves.

I used an orange Pergacolour pen for the little flowers, added the sentiments from the ‘summer tags & frames’ set and simply attached it to a black 6×6 card blank.

Physalis has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine, so this would make a great get well card!
