floral cross

Happy Easter everyone! I thought we should celebrate with a cross of flowers using the ‘blooming corner’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts.

I’ve pulled a couple of challenges together for this one, taking the sketch from Global Design Project, and the centre row of spring colours, free & stencil from TicTacToe‘s grid

One thing I’ve learned this Easter is that you can make a cross out of any straight stamps, so I started with the floral strip from the set and stamped it on half a 5×5 card blank. I cut a mask for it from Clarity’s mask material and covered it over. I then stamped part of the floral strip for the hprozontal part fo the cross (the easiest way to do this is to pp a bit of masking tape over the part fo the stamp you don’t want to use before inking it up, then remove the tape and stamp it!) I left the mask in place so I could stencil the ground using torn copy paper and ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide, then added the sky with the clouds mask and ‘tumbled glass’.

I shaded the cross with pink, yellow & orange Pergaliner pencils

Finally, I added the words from the ‘essential sentiments’ set plus a few micron pen birds, then mounted it on a layer of light blue card and attached to a 6×6 card blank.

Allelulia, Christ is risen!
