always in my thoughts for As You See It

It’s Good Friday today, a day of sombre reflection for Christians as we remember Jesus’ crucifixion, so it seemed appropriate to go with a thoughtful card using our new sketch at As You See It. I’ve gone back to one of the floral panel stamps from ClarityCrafts, pairing it with the palette from Color Hues

I started by stamping the two halves of the floral panel onto cream card using ‘cobalt’ Archival ink. I added the sentiment across the centre, shaded the image with several blue Pergaliner pencils and cut it out using a nested oval die.

I made a 6×6 card blank from a piece of cream card and embedded a frame on the front. I cut two blue strips of companion papers from some of my scraps, ran the ‘cobalt’ ink pad around the edge of the die cut oval and attached it to the card front on top of the two blue strips. I finished with some blue dots using the single stamp from the ‘Just Flowers’ set – can you spot the one I got in the wrong place…?

So how have we inspired you to use our sketch?

  1. Deborah, This is so pretty and I just love the divided floral and the way you incorporated the sentiment. You are so creative and full of fun and fabulous layouts. Thanks for playing at Color Hues.

  2. I love the dainty florals and the blue and white design just adds to that folk art vibe, Deborah. I think the oval is the perfect shape with the square card. And the design of your embellishments again suggests a kind of folk art. Really lovely!
