Y for Yesteryears at Alphabet Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome to our new challenge at Alphabet Challenge – Meg has chosen ‘yesteryears’ as we’ve reached Y, so anything retro or vintage. I’ve gone with retro back to the 60s & 70s thanks to ClarityCrafts ‘Doodleology rectangle – elements’ stamp set, which I recently invested in. The palette from Color Dare seemed ideal and it fitted neatly with the geometric theme from AAA Birthday

The first step was to stamp the large rectangle from the set with black Versafine Clair ink and heat emboss it with clear powder. I picked out three Pergacolour pens to match Color Dare’s palette and used them to fill in the blocks of pattern within the stamped image.

I then simply trimmed the card down, added a co-ordinating mount and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I finished with one of the sentiments from the ‘summer tags & frames’ stamp set.

So will you come and join us at Alphabet with your vintage or retro creations? There’s more inspiration over on the challenge blog – you’ve got until 21 March to play along with us!
