Welcome back to another offering with the new ‘funky flowers’ dies and adhesive felt from ClarityCrafts – they were flying out of the door on Barbara’s launch show earlier. Now you all know that I don’t like to waste anything – this card uses some of the leftover pieces from cutting the flowers to decorate the frame in my earlier post!

I had these small squares that I’d cut with scissors for the dies, which made me think of those crocheted ‘granny squares’ we used to make at school (mine weren’t always totally regular either!) I took a 5×5 card blank and used a square embedder to create a frame on the front. I then attached the four offcuts (with the flower apertures) to sit in a square within the frame, trying not to distort them as I stuck them down.

I found a few more little scrap pieces of felt and used the smallest die to cut four more flowers to sit within the apertures. I then simply added a word sticker to finish.

What do you think of my little card made from scraps? I rather like that the squares aren’t totally straight – it adds to the homespun quilt effect! I’m going to share it with the challenges at Just Us Girls, where we’re asked to CASE one of the DT cards and I went with Carol Mc’s, and with TicTacToe, picking up the right hand column of their grid.

A good use of your leftover pieces and a pretty end result.
