As You See It challenge – Easter

Hello crafty friends. It’s a busy day for me here in blogland – I’m back with a third card, this time for our new theme over at As You See It challenge. After a Christmas card this morning, we’ve now moved on to Easter, which we’ll be celebrating in just a few weeks! I went back to the lovely spray of lilies from ClarityCrafts ‘Just Flowers’ set, together with the ‘patterned panels’ to construct the cross.

I started by stamping the lilies onto a square of white card. I cut a mask for them, then stamped two of the ‘patterned panels’ to form a cross sitting behind them. I shaded the lilies with Pergaliner pencils, then brushed ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide across Clarity’s clouds mask for the sky. I then sponged a little ‘rustic wilderness’ across one of the ground masks from the ‘riverside landscape’ collection to give the cross & lilies a base to stand on.

I added the sentiment from the ‘essential sentiments’ stamp set, then popped the card on a layer of light blue and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

Come on over to As You See It and join in with our Easter celebrations! There’s more inspiration from my design team-mates to get you started – we’d love to see you in our gallery!

  1. I’m glad that one of us had the right set to commemorate the spiritual aspect of Easter. This was a clever way of making a cross and the lilies in front was the perfect touch! I like that the colour came in the sky and ground sponged on and the lilies!

  2. I love how creative you got with your supplies for this challenge Deborah – your simple cross is the perfect way to remember the true meaning of Easter and the lilies at the base ground it perfectly. So beautifully CAS – gorgeous!
