Welcome to my crafty blog and our new sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches, which I thought was perfect for the new ‘just because – floral panel’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts and picks up the floral theme from Just Add Ink and the CAS/Love from AAA Cards.

I started with the diagonal box stripe stencil on a square of card that I’d cut to fit a 6×6 card blank. I ran masking tape from corner to corner on the card, then blended ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide through the stencil with a Clarity brush, sharpening up the edges with a spot-on sponge. I then removed the diagonal masking tape, laid the stencil back down and remasked around the sides of the inner square, putting the tape on the stencil this time along the right hand and bottom sides. I lightly brushed a little more of the ‘salvaged patina’ into the central square, then stamped the two halves of the floral heart.

I selected several Pergaliners to then shade in the image, aiming for a bright bouquet of flowers.

I stamped the sentiment across the centre of the panel, again with black Archival ink, then added a layer of Waimea Falls companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

These are such lovely stamps – they’ll work for so many occasions, but the heart makes me think of Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day which are not that far away.

Deborah I love how delicate your card and the flower heart is, what a lovely card for anytime of the year. I really love the faded stenciled background so will tuck that away for future use by me 😉
Thanks for playing with us at AAA Cards this week and going with the “twist”.

What a great idea to just stencil a section of the card the way you have. It adds something quite special to the rest and as always the colouring is lovely.
